Privacy Policy
Who this applies to
Kores Foundry is an internal operations tool of Kores (India) Limited ("Kores", "we"). It shows foundry production, quality and process data to Kores employees and authorised staff. Accounts are created by Kores; there is no public sign-up. This policy covers the Android and iOS apps and the web portal at iot.kores-foundry.com.
What we collect
- Account details set up by Kores: your name, login ID, work email, role, designation, department, reporting line and the sites and production lines you may see.
- Sign-in and security records: sign-in times, the network (IP) address of sign-in attempts, failed-attempt counts used to lock out password guessing, and for administrators a trusted-device token that skips the emailed sign-in code for 30 days.
- Entries you make in the app or portal, such as log sheets, notes and comments, with your name and the time.
- Notification token: if notifications are enabled, the app registers a device token with Google Firebase Cloud Messaging so we can send alerts to your phone.
The production data itself (heats, chemistry, moulding, pouring and sand readings) is machine and process data, not personal data, though records can name the operator or supervisor on shift.
What we do not collect
- No location, camera, microphone, contacts, photos, files, call logs or SMS. The Android app asks only for internet access, network status and permission to show notifications.
- No advertising, no advertising IDs and no third-party analytics or tracking.
On your device
The app stores your sign-in session, your name and role, the language and theme you chose, and which alerts it has already shown you, so that it can open without signing in each time. Signing out removes the session.
How we use it
- To sign you in and show only the sites, lines and reports your role allows.
- To attribute production records and entries to the people responsible for them.
- To send operational alerts and emails, such as daily summaries and out-of-specification notices.
- To keep the system secure: detecting and blocking password guessing, and auditing administrative changes.
We do not sell personal data or use it for advertising.
Sharing and storage
Data is shared only with Kores staff whose role requires it, and with service providers that host or operate the system for us: our web hosting provider, Amazon Web Services (database, Mumbai region), our email provider and, if notifications are enabled, Google Firebase Cloud Messaging. Data travels between the app and our servers over encrypted HTTPS connections.
How long we keep it
Account details are kept while you work with Kores and the account is active. Production records are kept as part of Kores's quality and manufacturing records. Sign-in and security logs are kept only as long as needed for security and audit purposes.
Your choices and rights
You can ask to see or correct your personal data, or to have your account closed and personal details removed where Kores is not required to keep them. You can turn off notifications in your phone's settings at any time. To make a request, write to suraj.nair@kores-india.com or contact your Kores IT administrator. We handle personal data in line with applicable Indian law, including the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023.
Children
The app is a workplace tool for adults and is not intended for anyone under 18.
